Privacy policy — Japanese Form Edge Tester
Applies to version 1.0.0. Last updated: 2026-10-08.
Japanese Form Edge Tester generates and inserts form-testing strings locally in your browser.
- Selected field metadata is temporarily processed locally to provide QA functions. Page/form contents and browsing data are not transmitted, persistently retained, sold or shared. The extension does not intentionally read, store or transmit page URLs and does not keep browsing history. It does not read pre-existing field values; the post-insertion comparison described below is the only value inspection.
- There are no network requests, analytics, telemetry, advertisements, remote scripts, accounts, or external services.
- While the side panel is visible, the extension checks the active tab in that window about every 300 ms and reads the focused field's label, name or ID, type, minlength, maxlength, required and pattern attributes to display context and appropriate boundary buttons. This metadata stays in memory.
- When you choose a value, the extension replaces that field's content and dispatches input/change events. It briefly compares the resulting value to the generated string to detect immediate site-side changes. The side panel receives a match result and length, not the pre-existing field contents.
- Generated strings and field references are temporary. The extension does not use cookies, browser storage, files, or a database to retain them. Settings and generated strings remain only in the live panel, without browser storage. Hidden panels stop checking fields. The on-page weak reference expires for use five minutes after its last observation, is replaced when the selected field changes, and is discarded on navigation. The opening service worker handles only the window ID; it does not read or retain page data.
- The extension uses `activeTab`, `scripting`, and `sidePanel` permissions. `sidePanel` enables the persistent companion UI. It does not run automatically on every website.
- The website you are testing may react to input/change events, including validation, reactive state updates, autosave and API requests. Use primarily on development, staging or other safe test environments. The extension cannot prevent those website requests. Those actions are controlled by that website and its privacy policy, independently of this extension.
There is no stored user data to export or delete. Removing the extension removes its installed files.
